Los Angeles Rams

Traded for DE Dante Fowler Jr. in exchange for 2019 3rd Rd Pick, 2020 5th Rd Pick

The Los Angeles Rams are the best team in the NFL right now. This is not debatable since they are undefeated. They have stellar talent all around, and their defensive line is one of their biggest strengths at the moment. In today’s NFL, a dangerous pass rush seems to be the most crucial factor of the defense.

The Rams recognize this theory and are going after it. So, they sent two draft picks to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the former first-round pick, Dante Fowler Jr. He’s a high pick, who just straight up underperformed in Jacksonville. In his two and a half year span with the Jags, Fowler accounted for only 14 sacks.

He’s not awful, but he’s also not great. Like the Rams, the Jaguars have one of the better defensive lines in the league. Maybe they suspected a change of scenery or coaching could help Fowler?

It’s unclear. This sounds like an excellent trade, and it’s hard not to trust the Rams after the tremendous offseason that their front office had. But Rams fans shouldn’t get too far ahead of themselves with this one. A third, and fifth-rounder for Fowler is a little lopsided on paper right now.
