6th Times a Charm: Charles Haley Voted into HOF

Charles Haley

It was six years in the making, but the committee of voters finally got it right when they voted Charles Haley into the NFL Hall of Fame. It was absolutely ridiculous that it took this long, but we’ll take it.

The 2015 Class will consist of Charles Haley, Junior Seau, Tim Brown, Jerome Bettis, Will Shields, Bill Polian and Ron Wolf.

Jimmy Johnson made it to the finalist this year, but did not get in. He’ll be up for vote next year, he needs to get in, and it’s not even a question of if, but when.

Haley represents those rare breed of game-changing players and when the Cowboys traded for Haley in 1992, it was seen as the last piece of the puzzle for the defense. The Cowboys find themselves in the same position this coming season. Will DeMarcus Lawrence be that piece or do we still need another player.

There’s no doubt that Lawrence will be a pivotal piece to the defense’s success, but the Cowboys will  need to shore up the defense in this coming draft class.

Congrats Charles! Well deserved.
