A Message from Our New Contributor Joshua Rubin

Hello Phinfans,

My name is Joshua Rubin, and I will be a part time contributor to Phins Phocus starting today. I just recently graduated from the John Molson School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and am now continuing my studies at McGill University. I am 22 years old and live in beautiful downtown Montreal.

Let me assure you, I eat (literally, Dolphins mug and plate), sleep (again, literally in my Dolphins boxers) and breathe (Dolphins breathing strips? No, just kidding) Miami Dolphins football. I don’t want to paint the picture that I am crazy, but I put my heart and soul into the Miami Dolphins and now I get to channel that into entertaining, comical and informative articles for you. At times my outlook may seem cynical and brash, please bear with me, as deep down I never lose hope and always support my team.

Since I was a baby I have been wearing the aqua and orange proudly. My father and grandfather are still loyal Dolphins fans and I try to get to at least two Dolphins games per year. Every other game is watched, and then usually re-watched immediately for further analysis (unless of course it’s too painful to re-watch viewer discretion is strongly advised.) I’m sorry to bring that up, but at least I didn’t bring up this game (don’t click on it, you will regret it). I told you so. I’m not trying to awaken repressed memories; I’m just trying to prove to you, that I’ve been there with you this whole time, I know how you feel, and I know it is tough to be a Phinfan.

As tough as it is to be Dolphins fans we have some things to fall back on.

  1. 17-0. It is the only argument I need when talking football and I need to defend my team’s honour. I don’t care that I wasn’t even born yet, this is my team and this is part of our history. Note: One of the best days of my life.
  2. The team is looking good. We have our problems, but every team does. I am not ready to throw in the towel, and never expect mediocrity from this team. The defence is getting very impressive to watch, and can carry us to the promised land sometime soon.
  3. We aren’t Buffalo Bills fans!
