Two tough losses in a row for the Celtics won’t stop how this blue collar, scrapper team is going to rebound next.
Along with the losses, Celtics G was fortunately selected by the fans for the 2016 All Star Game. Thomas has approximately 158,000 votes from NBA fans all over which makes sense because Thomas has averaged over 24 points a game in the month of January. Along with Isaiah dropping buckets and dishing out dimes, fellow Celtics F Jae Crowder has been a force to be wreckened with. Crowder has averaged just over 14 points thus far in the year to go along with over 5 rebounds a game.
In the schedule after the January 22nd home game vs the Chicago Bulls, here is the forecast for the C’s.
Saturday 1/23 vs 76ers – Postponed
Sunday 1/24 @ 76ers- This should be rather interesting given the Sixers have found part of their niche. Jahlil Okafor has really blossomed into a post scorer at a very young age. G Ish Smith has developed quite well for this unusual Sixers team. Smith is a reliable scorer along with being a tremendous assist man. Some games, he has gone over 13 assists and can balance the floor. C Nerlens Noel is always a threat when you take a look at Philly. The shot blocking specialist is known for ruthless blocks and is a immediate threat on the glass along with Okafor. Robert Covington is a 3-4 that can be the spot up shooter and all around player. The Celtics are 2-0 against the 76ers this year thus far.
Monday 1/25 @ Washington- The Wizards have been very poor against the C’s this year. They gave Boston one of the best, if not the best, offensive performances this year. This was back in November when the C’s terrorized the Wiz Kids 111-78 at TD Garden. Another prime performance is lurking for the C’s against the Wizards.
Wednesday 1/27 vs Denver- Emmanuel Mudiay and Will Barton are an interesting pair to watch. Mudiay was the first round selection by Denver and he is doing unbelievable. Mudiay is dropping 10 points a game along with his all around statline of 5 rebounds and 3 assists. The Celtics need to contain Mudiay in order to control the frontcourt and cause turnovers.
