Looks like the Cowboys will be offering Miles Austin a longterm contract. Terms of the contract details have not been released yet, but I would expect the Cowboys to offer Austin a Crayton-like contract. Austin should play a pivotal role in the offense this season and beyond. Austin provides the speed and deep threat that Romo once enjoyed with Terry Glenn.
But according to a source, the Cowboys do plan to sign Austin to a multiyear deal.
The team has the right to reduce each player’s initial qualifying offer of $1.54 million if they don’t sign by the Friday deadline.
Both players are in the team’s plans for next season, especially the speedy Austin, who is expected to help replace Terrell Owens (Star-Telegram)
Sounds like a good idea, we need all the receivers we can get. I’m not quite sure I’m sold on Roy Williams’ health.
