Tomorrow night the Celtics will play their most important game of the season. A victory will most likely win them the Eastern Conference. A loss will take away the season they have worked so hard to get. Their opponent? The same team that has stood in their way before, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Luckily for the Celtics, the Cavs haven’t been their usual selves lately. They finished March with a losing record, which is rare for a team with Lebron James. Kevin Love returned from injury after hurting his knee earlier in the season. While they got back one star, they lost another. Three-point stud Kyle Korver hasn’t played since March 25th and the Cavs have struggled without him. You’d think getting back a perennial All-Star would be helpful, but instead the Cavaliers have gone the opposite way. With only a few weeks left in the season, the Cavaliers need a win against Boston.
There is no doubt this game will breed a playoff atmosphere. Luckily for Boston this game takes place in TD Garden. With one of the best home courts in the league, it looks to be a big advantage in tomorrow’s game, as well as the playoffs. That’s what’s at stake. The number one overall seed would give the C’s home court advantage throughout the playoffs, which could propel the team to the Eastern Conference finals that they have been unable to get to as of late. Not to mention tomorrow’s game could very well be a preview of those finals. Will the Celtics be able to come out on top in their biggest game of the season? Only time will tell.
