It started off with Malcolm Butler getting a movie made about his life, then came Brady getting one made about the last two years of his. But now Bill Belichick will play his hand in the movie business. That’s right the Patriots are officially going Hollywood.
Bill Belichick will narrate an hour-long film about World War II called “D-Day: Over Normandy.” It’s directed by Rhode Island native Tim Gray and will be airing on PBS.
“Growing up in Annapolis, Maryland, where my father coached football at the United States Naval Academy, I understand the importance of preserving the memory of those who served our nation during World War II,” Belichick said in a statement. “Every day of my childhood, I was immersed in the tradition of the United States Navy. I was, and remain, inspired by their discipline, teamwork and courage, especially the sailors who fought on D-Day and in the Pacific theater, where the U.S. Pacific Fleet sacrificed so much for ultimate victory.”
As we know Belichick is all about the team, not one person is put in front of another he even connected it to this documentary saying “The Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines made one heck of a team in World War II.”
It also seems Bill Belichick has been a big fan of the making of this film and was an easy decision to pick as a narrator said director Tim Gray.
“First and foremost, Bill Belichick has been an active supporter of the World War II Foundation since we produced the first of our films in 2006,” said Gray. “Coach Belichick understands our mission because he is a student of military history and is very proud of the service of his own father Steve, who served in both Europe and the Pacific in World War II.”
Well, it is now time to strap on our History hats because anything Bill Belichick is in I am in.
