Bills squish the Dolphins 29-10

In a series of bad omens, the Miami Dolphins not only lost the game, they lost their way in Buffalo.  It looked like the offensive playbook ended up in the hands of the Buffalo Bills as the Dolphins couldn’t cross into Buffalo territory in the first half.  While things looked promising pre-game with Knowshon Moreno marching out to the Bills logo and pointing at the crowd, showing his leadership and swagger. One might argue that tempting fate could be dangerous.

Sadly, the Dolphins were dealt a painful blow on Knowshon Moreno’s first carry on the Dolphins second possession as he landed awkwardly on his hand and then his elbow was bent inward.  Moreno, looked to be in serious pain and was lost for the game after he headed into the locker room.

That left Dolphins running back Lamar Miller (11 carries, 46 yards) and rookie Damien Williams (5 carries for 19 yards), hardly a dominant rushing attack to carry the Dolphins heavy burden.

In addition, quarterback Ryan Tannehill played poorly enough to feature no offensive points, but only 6 points for the Dolphins in the third quarter after finally finding Mike Wallace in the end zone on a pretty fade route. Other than that Tannehill couldn’t hit his receivers in stride and depended on Charles Clay and Lamar Miller when in trouble.  Overall, Tannehill didn’t play better than he did versus the Patriots posting a line of 31 of 49 passing and 241 yards with a touchdown and interception.

Production was difficult to come by for the Dolphins passing offense as it appeared that Tannehill and the Dolphins offense were out of synch and not on the same page as offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.  Not to mention, Tannehill took 4 sacks creating a setback in confidence of the Miami offensive line.

While last week the Dolphins were lauded for their come back versus the Patriots, the Dolphins overall appeared disinterested and more so like the team that finished last season after a big win over the Patriots.  The Dolphins today, showed their true colors, not only did they play poorly, they played at a level below mediocrity and reflective of the Dolphins quiet demeanor of coach Joe Philbin.

Right now on Twitter, fans are already talking about another banner, this time to fire head coach Joe Philbin.

A sad reality for the Miami Dolphins that unfortunately shows zero opportunities for improving unless the team as a whole plays better together.

Together no one is strong in Miami, and while it’s one game, the Dolphins have much more to prove to their fans, city, and the rest of the NFL.
