The US Men’s National Team didn’t play its best game on Tuesday night, but it did manage to escape Honduras with a point, which is better than nothing.
It was a boring match, with Honduras setting the tone and then moving into a more defensive-minded formation to protect its lead.
Still, USMNT did not quit, and kept fighting. Their hard work paid off. In the 85th minute, the Honduran goalkeeper made a great save on a beautifully-struck set piece. The ball bounced around in the box, and Bobby Wood pounced on it for the equalizer.

USMNT will need to play a lot better than that going forward if it wants to qualify for the World Cup.
