Jerrell Gavins , DJ Harper , Malcolm Johnson, Cory Yriarte and Dan Paul should all be back next year receiving a medical red shirt nothing is official as far as I know but they are expected back and all are needed parts.
Gavins proved himself a great cover corner early against Georgia and getting him back should greatly improve our secondary. Both Harper and Malcolm should provide both power running and play out of the offensive backfield. I don’t expect a drop off in RB production quite the opposite add in Ajayi and I believe our back field will be explosive no matter what QB wins the starting job! It will be nice to have a real Fullback in Paul back in the lineup however I suspect he may find himself playing more TE then fullback.
NFL draft, here is my personal Draft order and my prediction of who’s going where.
#1. Doug Martin to The Detroit Lions. Lions will be drafting late first round they need a running back like Martin while some would argue Nate Potter around here Nate won’t be there for them and no other first year starter will be either. Dougs stock will go up once the combines start and he may very well earn his way up even further on the draft boards.
#2 Kellen Moore to the Chicago Bears this pick will surprise everyone not because of the team but the round the Bears will Draft Kellen, early third round. Kellen is just the kind of QB Chicago wants plays within himself plus he’ll get a couple of years to prepare. This is of course is bad news for me as I will have to forever hate him until the day Coach Pete retires and Kellen takes over as the Head coach of Boise State!
#3. Is a hard one for me this is a 4 way tie between Shea Billy Nate and Tyrone so I will place them based on where the team I suspect will draft them will be drafting from.
3a. Nate Potter Jacksonville
3b. Bill Winn KC
3c. Tyrone Crawford Tampa bay
3d. Shea Mc Clellin Detroit Lions . Vanden Bosch and Cliff Avrill insurance
#4. George Iloka Oakland Radiers
#5 Chase Baker Green Bay Packers
#6 Tyler Shoemaker San Francisco
#7. Byron Hout New Orleans
#8. Jarrell Root Vikings
#9. Kyle Efaw New England
I believe Chuck Hays will get a camp offer as will several others. Hard to look past a 6’3” 230lb LB like Tevis and certainly Chuck has come on strong this year I believe he makes a team. Byrd, Walker and Febis I don’t know their level of commitment to getting to the next level is.
So there you have it I predict 11 Broncos are drafted and 13 will make team rosters next year .
What do you all think?
I will remind you folks of one thing .. I predicted the Lions would take Titus if not in the first in the second and they did, I have my ear to the ground here and the word I’m getting is a dependable durable running back who can catch the ball out of the back field is tops on their draft board, if Doug is still there in the first he will be wearing Lions Blue and Silver, as well Cliff Averil is a free agent at the end of this season and Vanden Bosch is nearing the end at most he has 2 years left The Lions will take either Shea or Tyrone depending who is still there, I think they will prefer Shea but I also think Tyrone is the first to go.
