Brady Ends It

After one of the most idiotic controversies and millions spent into this case, Tom Brady has been fed up and decided to end the appeals process and will serve the 4 game suspension which is in effect starting Week 1. 500+ days, numerous lawyers, the lawsuit has been the top of discussions the past two years when football was involved and now we can put it behind us and focus on what’s important and that is the 2016/17 season.

All this means that backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo will be the starter and now all the fans are turning their attention to the third year QB out of Eastern Illinois who has been striving each year with quick mechanics and to many people, his good looks. Only 188 passing yards in his regular season career, the numbers may be low for Jimmy, but numbers are just numbers and it all depends on skill and what you can do out on the football field. As Garoppolo will be the starter unless he is injured and third stringer rookie QB Jacoby Brissett (N.C. State) will have to cover for him, the weapons Garoppolo has around him is a core that can do some serious damage. What could happen in my opinion is possibly seeing Garoppolo making a connection to a young WR and sticking to him on plays and building a connection that can stay through 4 games.

The offensive line is going to see changes in play calls as the G.O.A.T. is not behind them calling the shots, but the third year quarterback is adjusting well to the system and understands what needs to be done.

We will see what happens Week 1 against Arizona on Sunday September 11th at 8;30 pm et. Garoppolo now is gearing up for a Arizona secondary that includes two Top 30 players in the NFL according to the NFL Network Top 100 Players (Peterson 18, Mathieu 28). Mathieu was an overlooked prospect coming out of LSU as he was dealing with personal issues which affected him on the field as well but Bruce Arians and company took him in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft. A top prospect that fell down, Mathieu is showing the critics what he is made of and is an interception machine (5 picks last year, 89 tackles). Peterson is the shutdown corner that has been the household name and continues his raid of shutting down top receivers and it starts at the line of scrimmage.

Another familar face for Garoppolo will be Chandler Jones, but wearing the white and red jersey instead of blue and white. Jones was traded this past season to the Arizona Cardinals due to the synthetic marijuana issue that Jones was involved with and eventually led to him being traded for Cardinals G Jonathan Cooper. Although Jones made a mistake he’d like to take back, he is a feared pass rusher and Garoppolo may see a lotof him on game day.

The beginning of the season will be tweaked a little with Tom Brady sitting out but nonetheless, keeping confidence in Jimmy Garoppolo will hopefully pay off for the first four games against Arizona, Miami, Houston and Buffalo.
