Brady Will No Longer Appeal

After a brutal 18 months of Deflate Gate, there is a possibility it is finally over. After federal courts denied Brady’s appeal, after some thought Brady put out via Facebook that “I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process.” In Brady statement his word choice was very particular and showed a lot of charisma and he was very thankful towards the Kraft family, NFLPA, and teammates and coaches.

This officially means our starting quarterback Tom Brady will miss the first 4 games of the NFL season. The NFL is at a big loss missing one of its biggest superstars for a quarter of the season. Brady will miss games

Week 1: New England Patriots at the Arizona Cardinals

Week 2: Miami Dolphins at the New England Patriots

Week 3: Houston Texans at the New England Patriots

Week 4: Buffalo Bills at the New England Patriots

This most likely means that Jimmy Garoppolo will be under center for the Patriots to start the first 4 games of the season. He has shown some promise in his few years of back up behind Brady. He went through the same situation last year as it was in the air on whether or not Brady would be able to play. So Jimmy should be ready to play after training camp.

The Patriots and Bill Belichick are known for only taking 2 QB’s on the 53 man roster so it will be curious if the Pats do the same this year with Garoppolo and Brady. The Patriots currently also have rookie third round draft pick Jacoby Brissett from North Carolina State on their roster for upcoming training camp, it will be interesting if they target another QB or think they have a solid backup in Brissett to challenge Garoppolo for the starting job.

One thing that is almost certain is that Tom Brady should be out on the field week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. The Patriots looking at the schedule have a decent chance at still begin able to go 2-2 or maybe even 3-1 without their leader Tom Brady. The Cardinals will be a tough challenge as the reigning champs Cardinals look to better last seasons impressive 13-3 performance with a little better playoff showing after losing to the Carolina Panthers 49-15 in the NFC Championship game. Week 2 against the Dolphins should be interesting as with Brady the Pats should easily win this game but take him out of the equation and it is tough to say. Miami made significant improvements in the off season and have a chance to give the Pats a run for their money for the division title. Then week 3 should be a very winnable game. The Texans are all over the place with newly signed Brock Osweiler as their potential starter, along side vet and ex-Pat Brain Hoyer, who the Pats last year jumped all over him. Next in week four the Buffalo Bills and Rex Ryan, who always seem to give New England some trouble. However right now they don’t appear to have enough weapons to be a true threat. My prediction is as follows:

Week 1: New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals- L 21-17

Week 2: Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots- W 24-14

Week 3: Houston Texans at New England Patriots- W 28-10

Week 4: Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots- W 27-13

The New England Patriots will be very happy to go 3-1 without their star. Training camp starts Thursday July 28th. Should be exciting. I will leave Brady and the NFL’s decision making in the matter of deflate gate to my heated colleagues.
