The Browns were looking to play the role of spoiler in Sunday’s Week 17 game against the Ravens, and they clearly came to play, jumping out to an early 7-3 lead. Baltimore stormed right back, though, and they eventually went up 20-7.

But a controversial play could’ve got the Browns right back in the game — had the refs not screwed them.

It happened on a third-and-goal situation, with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson leaping toward the goal line, but fumbling the football. For some reason, though, the play was blown dead, even though Jabrill Peppers picked the ball up and likely would’ve returned it for a touchdown, as no Ravens players were around him.

The Browns were indeed awarded the football on the fumble, as the refs ruled that Jackson did not cross the plane. But they likely would’ve scored a touchdown on the play, and the officials blowing the play dead screwed them out of that.
