The East Longmeadow, Massachusetts native will be back on the Bruins after he tore ligaments in his left foot while training. Vatrano underwent a successful surgical repair at Massachusetts General Hospital on September 26. Vatrano had been listed as an injured non-roster player after sustaining the injury prior to training camp.
Vatrano has been cleared to play since December 16th and has skated in two games with the Providence Bruins. After just two games in Providence, the Bruins decided that was enough and have called him back up to the NHL. This being not very surprising as in his two games with providence he has scored a goal in each game and has a plus-two rating.
Vatrano appeared in 22 games last season scoring eight goals and three assists for eleven total points for the Bruins. As to where he will be playing go forward I personally think he will take over Austin Czarnik spot on the second line with Tom Schaller and Noel Acciari.
We what Claude Julien will do tomorrow when the Bruins play the Islander at 7:00 pm.
