Hot off the press this morning as the Bruins have signed 28-year-old, forward, Swedish hockey player Peter Mueller to a PTO contract. Pierre LeBrun of ESPN was the first to break this story on twitter.

Mueller has not always played in Sweden as he was drafted by the Pheonix Coyotes in round 1 (8th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft. Mueller played about 3 3/4 seasons with the Coyotes before being traded to the Avalanche for 2 years. Mueller also recorded time playing with the Florida Panthers before going over to Sweeden to play for the Kloten HC and the Malmo Redhawks.
Now just because he signed a PTO does not mean he will definitely be on the team as a PTO contract is a professional tryout contract. We basically get him for a trial period if he does good in the pre-season we keep him and if we don’t we release him.
The recent past the Bruins have giving PTO contracts to Lee Stempniak and Jonas Gustavsson. So this is not an uncommon thing for the Bruins to give out PTO contracts. We will just have to wait and see if this pays off for the
