Despite having offensive line troubles for a long period of time, the Pats made a smart decision by locking up OT Marcus Cannon for a five-year extension worth $32.5 million with 14.5 guaranteed.

Cannon, a 2011 fifth-round pick out of TCU (Texas Christian University), has proven to be a reliable player under the regime of Belichick and company, and with this extension, has proven his worth to this organization. Cannon, who stands 6’5 and weighs about 335 pounds, has been called into rolls of the offensive line that were necessary to lock up and did his job on a daily basis.

With Cannon locked up for five years, we will see who else the Pats decide to lock up to future contracts.
