Tonight’s game was one the Cavs are going to want to forget. This may be easiest for Mike Dunleavy who suffered a blow to the head in which he left and did not return. The 101-118 loss to the Bucks was their worst defeat of the young season which has now featured just three losses.
The biggest problem was Cleveland’s lack of energy. This resulted in the Bucks having their way in the paint all night. And for point of reference, if you get beaten by the Bucks it’s probably because they got what they wanted in the paint. They came into tonight ranking in the bottom third of the league in both three-point percentage and makes.
The night didn’t consist of any particular big games for the Cavs. LeBron seemed to put more time and energy into trying to get calls than he did into playing defense. His seven turnovers, most of which were unforced errors, also hurt his team as the game slowly fell out of reach.
The real star of the night was in a Bucks uniform with the most letters on the back of his jersey. Giannis Antetokounmpo stuffed the stat sheet with 34 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and two blocks.
Now don’t worry, I didn’t forget about Delly. I couldn’t write about this game without mentioning his first outting against his old team. The former fan-favorite had a quiet night of just three points but managed to hand out seven assists.
Where his scoring lacked, the Bucks’ bench did not. Three Milwaukee reserves scored in double figures; the same amount of total Cavs players at that mark.
Overall, not a whole lot of positives for the Cavs tonight, but nothing that should cause for much concern. Hopefully Dunleavy will be back as they look to get their December off to a good start at home against the Clippers.
