The Cleveland Cavaliers happen to have quite a few uniforms available to them on any given night. Throughout this season the Cavs will rotate between eight different jerseys. In the first 12 games, they’ve worn six of the eight jerseys. Some people, like me, find this type of thing genuinely interesting. I’ll be looking at the different trends that happen with each different jersey during the year.
WHITE 3-0
The Cavs have worn these three times on the young season and have not yet been defeated in them. All the games have been decided by single digits thus far with the closest being a 102-101 victory in Philadelphia.
WINE 2-1
Cleveland has also worn these three times in the first 12 games. They’re 2-1 in them with the loss coming at the hands of Paul George and the Indiana Pacers while LeBron and JR watched from the sidelines. The other two instances were victories in Washington and at home against the Rockets.
NAVY 2-0
A personal favorite of mine, the navy jerseys have been unbeaten this year in two appearances. Traditionally, the Cavs have worn their navy-blue jerseys in big games, in both LeBron eras that has been the case. After last season’s NBA Finals I think that may change, however.
BLACK 1-1
It’s been well known that LeBron isn’t a fan of the sleeved jerseys that the NBA has rolled out in recent years. I truthfully can’t say that I blame him for that opinion, it’s one that I share with him. With that being said, I expect we will see these more this year thanks to what happened out at Oracle Arena last June. I can’t blame them for it. This are one of only a few sleeved jerseys that I like across the league.
GOLD 1-0
The gold threads are another favorite of mine. They’ve only been on the floor for the most recent Cavs game against the Pistons. Hopefully we start to see these ones more often than we have been lately.
ALTERNATE WINE 1-0
Another jersey that has only made one appearance this season, and one we may only see a handful of times. I’m not super crazy about this one, but the Cavs have won the only game that they’ve played in it thus far.
