It was a relationship that only lasted two years as CBS is set to cut ties with rules analyst Mike Carey. CBS is not expected to hire another rules analyst.
I don’t think Carey will be missed to much as every time he would talk you could just about expect the opposite thing to happen.
Yes, Carey had a decent 24 year officiating career where he was decently consistent. But he was far from that well watching from New York and reporting to CBS broadcast teams.
Carey had one of the driest personalities; maybe if he cracked a few jokes once in a while he would have been more likable. If he got me laughing I would not hold your awful insight on NFL rules against you as much.
But when you talk all business and its wrong majority of the time it hard to like someone. I am rather thrilled that CBS will not be having another rules analyst. Let the referees make the call, there is no need to have a retired NFL ref give his two cents on every call.
