Celtics Finalized 2017 Summer League Roster

Last year’s draftees, including SF Jaylen Brown, PG Demetrius Jackson. C Ante Zizic and SF Abdel Nader are participating in this year’s summer league. The C’s signed lots of rookies to the lineup instead of getting the few journeymen that roam around the summer league waiting for an opportunity into the NBA.

The center position is an uncertain spot for this C’s club, as the main guy running the 5 spot is indeed Al Horford, but help needs to be there for the 6’10 center trying to do a little bit of everything when out with the five guys. The future of Kelly Olynyk, according to multiple news outlets, is in question and the potential of parting ways with the sharpshooting 7 footer is a legitimate possibility. Look for 2016 draftee Ante Zizic to try and solidify a roster spot strictly for rebounding and giving the C’s a 7 footer that can immediately help the rebounding woes and putting up points, as Zizic has been a beast out in the international circuit. Former Ohio State C Trevor Thompson is also another intriguing specimen to look at, as his 7′ 250 pound frame is hard to miss, and improved tremendously his senior season with the Buckeyes, averaging almost 11 points and 9 boards a game.

It’s going to be a very competitive Celtics roster, and starting on Monday July 3rd, the C’s will travel to Orlando for participating in the Orlando Summer League while trekking to Las Vegas from July 8th to the 11th to wrap up the schedule.
