The first half seemed to be all Celtics as everything was going their way but that was not enough to push the Celtics to a win as they fall to the Cavilers 112-99. With that win, Cleveland can now close out the series Thursday night at the TD Garden.
The Celtics had their chances as Lebron James had 4 fouls in the first half and the Celtics at one point lead by 16. The team really seemed to be firing on all cylinders as the Clevland defense really did not know who to cover the Celtics offense as they everyone was shooting the ball.
The Celtics took a 57-47 lead to the locker room at the half. It seemed like all they had to do was come out and keep playing their game and the series would be tied coming home for game 5.
But the second half came and it took the Celtics by storm as Cavilers outscored the Celtics 40-to-23 in the third quarter and took over the game. From that point on it was Cleveland all night long outscoring the Celtics 25-to-19.
The Cavilers owe it all to Kyrie Irving as he had a postseason career-high 42 point game. He was unstoppable all night as he also had 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Lebron James also had himself a bounce back game after being held to 11 points in game 3 as he managed to have 34 points but he also was in foul trouble early as he sat a final couple of minutes in the first half due to picking up 4 fouls.
You would have thought that the Celtics would have played their best basketball with Lebron on the bench but they did not. In fact, it was actually some of the worst basketball they played all night as the wheels really fell off.
Kevin Love has also been a big thorn in the Celtics side this series and tonight was no different as he had a monster 17 rebound game and scored 17 points leading Clevland to a second half comeback win over the Celtics.
The Celtics played good but it was just not good enough to win the game some notable Celtics stats are Avery Bradley 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Al Horford 16 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists. And Jay Crowder 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists.
Will the Celtics extend the series and force another trip to Clevland to play game 6 or will 5 games be enough for the Cavaliers to punch their ticket back to the NBA Finals? We will find out Thursday night at the TD Garden.
