The Celtics look to continue their hot streak against the Mavericks tonight at 8:30 PM.
In their last 10 games, Boston is 9-1 and have separated themselves in the Eastern Conference. Now sitting just 2.5 games out of first place Cleveland, the C’s have put together a strong month of basketball.
One of the most promising things to come out of their current run is they are doing so without key players. Avery Bradley has been missing time with an Achilles injury and Jae Crowder missed the last two games dealing with a family matter. Even without two starters, they have come together as a team with several bench players stepping up in their absence. Gerald Green chipped in with 16 points off the bench against the Jazz, helping the Celtics to an impressive win.
On the other side of the court, the Mavericks have come alive in the new year. They have taken out Cleveland in the Eastern Conference and beat the Spurs in San Antonio. Franchise man Dirk Nowitzki looks reinvigorated, but the story in Dallas has been the sudden rise of rookie Yogi Ferrell. After signing a 10 day contract, he scored 32 points against the Trailblazers. He will see less minutes now that Deron Williams is back in the lineup, but he has been a highlight for the Mavs.
Dallas has won 11 of the last 16 and hope to pull the upset against Boston. Who will be able to keep their streak alive?
