The Redskins were the NFC East division leader heading into their Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Cowboys, but a loss in that game saw Dallas put a damper on their playoff picture.
And now, with Colt McCoy suffering a brutal leg injury in Monday night’s game against the Eagles, their playoff hopes may be going up in flames.
We say that because Mark Sanchez is now the starter, with no other options available whatsoever. Sanchez is a turnover machine, and isn’t the guy you want leading a conservative offense that had success earlier in the season by not making mistakes. Unfortunately for the Redskins, all Sanchez does is make mistakes — throwing balls into coverage, taking sacks and having horrible ball security.
As for McCoy, he suffered a broken right fibula, and he’ll be out for the season.

There isn’t much to say that’s positive going forward, as while the (6-7) Redskins are still in the playoff hunt, with an easier schedule than the Eagles and Cowboys, having Sanchez under pressure really gives them an uphill battle.
