My Take on the roster moves:

We kept all (8) of our draft picks, I’m surprised Glymph was released considering the injuries we have on the team with Ellis and Burnett. Spencer and Carpenter are going to get some major playing time this year, guarenteed. Joey Thomas looked good in camp, but did not play well in preseason, so Nate Jones’ value kept him on board. We need all the help we can on special team so Jones and Elam earn their keep there.

With Glenn gone, this clearly means the Cowboys are ready to hand over the #3 spot to Jacques Reeves for now. Reeves signed a one year deal last year, so its a win-win for both the player and team. We will be drafting CB in the first round, mark it down right now. We are still tissue paper thin, and I’m still concerned in that regard. Brown makes the team because of his versatility at safety and cornerback. I’m not sure how the heck Alan Ball made the team, we could have had him on the practice squad and kept Glymph.

Jason Hatcher is clearly the #1 DE on the team in my opinion, so that leads to #2, and that’s probably Chris Canty, so the Cowboys will need rotation, and that means Spears and Bowen, that’s how Bowen made the team. Ferguson did not have a backup NT, so Ratliff will be moved inside, and get more snaps at NT. Which is not bad, Ratliff is a monster, and high motor like Hatcher, I don’t mind that move.

No surprises at WR, the ones that made the team were the guys I thought deserved it. Isaiah Stanback is still a work in progress, moving from college QB to NFL WR, so I don’t see him contributing much this season. We need an upper pedigree sooner or later at WR, not developmental projects, Glenn is really getting banged up and probably near the end physically. I like who we have on the roster, but could still be upgraded.

Matt Moore is a priority practice squad signing.
