Word has the Cowboys looking deep at linebackers, and this is no surprise. The Cowboys linebacker corps could look totally different in the coming months. We pretty assured that Zach Thomas will be signing somewhere else, Greg Ellis probably gets his papers soon. The oft injured Kevin Burnett should be moving on as well. We’re left with Ware, James, and Spencer.
The Cowboys could take a shot at Ray Lewis, maybe Bart Scott, but there should be some other choices here to explore. Bobby Carpenter could possibly get the nod. Zach Thomas gave Carpenter alot of praise, so there could be something there, but then again. Parcells and Phillips have not used him much, it may be a lost cause there.
We definitely should be looking at drafting a starter type linebacker, and we should be looking at adding some linebackers for depth purposes.
