Cowboys Keys to Victory Against Giants

The Cowboys will begin their run to the playoffs tonight against the New York Giants and they’ll be looking to prove these are not the same old 8-8 Cowboys. In seasons past, these Cowboys have bumbled around and won a game and lost a game on a consistent basis.

These Garrett ran Cowboys will want to show they have turned the corners and they’ll want to show they can reel together some winning streaks, it starts tonight in an important division game. At 7-3, the Cowboys control their destiny, but it starts with taking care of the division.

The Giants are a lowly 3-7, but it’s still a Coughlin ran team and they never go away, this will be a battle from whistle-to-whistle. For a view from the other side, please check out BleedingBigBlue.com, we contributed a piece with them, check it out here.

Here are my keys to victory:

— Marinelli vs McAdoo will be on full display tonight. The Cowboys would like to matchup Orlando Scandrick on Odell Beckham, but the Giants will want to move Beckham around, which will give the Giants some potential mismatches. If they can beat Marinelli’s gameplan they may have a chance. The Cowboys must have tight coverage tonight.

— Collapse the pocket and Eli will get flustered and throw some picks. The Cowboys get Crawford back, so the defensive tackle rotation will harass Eli all game long. The Cowboys need to keep the pressure coming.

— Dez needs to duplicate his performance two weeks ago against the Jags, and he’ll have his chance against a beat-up Giants secondary.

— Feed Murray. Last game, Murray had 28 carries for 128. I see the Cowboys doing the same, and with Cullen Jenkins out for the Giants, our stout guards may own the trenches.

— No turnovers. I’m looking at you Dwayne Harris. I want to see smart fielding of the ball and I want to see sure hands. Do not muff the ball.

— Get the ball to El Patron, Gavin Escobar. Last game, Escobar had his ways with that Giants secondary and he will surely get some looks again in this one.

— Punish the running backs and they think twice about wanting that ball. McClain is one of the hardest hitting defensive players in the league and with his return, this defense will have another level of physicalness. Make them feel the pain getting up from the ground each carry.

— Set the tempo and do not let up. If the Cowboys go up a few scores, keep the pedal to the metal. I want to see a strong finish from the defense and the offense. Show me killer instinct, I want to see it on display. Show me the hunger and desire to own this division. Get rowdy baby!

— Terrance Williams needs to get back on track. He’s had a very quiet few games and I’m not sure its how defenses are honing in on him or what. Williams needs to get the ball.

— DeMarcus Lawrence, get me a sack or more today. Let’s get rolling!

— I want to see if Anthony Hitchens can bump out and still be as effective when he’s not playing in the middle LB position. We’ll see how Hitchens looks alongside McClain. Keep making those plays Hitch!

— Randle needs to be Murray’s primary back when coming out of the backfield. Dunbar with the handoff has been innefective,  he can’t run. Keep Randle as the change-up back and keep Dunbar as the screen receiving back. These have been their bread and butter.

— No more blocked punts or field goals. The Cowboys have had some inconsistencies in special teams, and that trend needs to end. I don’t want to see those BS missed blocks resulting in blocks.

— 8-3 will sounds much better heading into the Thanksgiving game. Let’s get this win and start stacking “W’s”

Let’s go Dallas! Let’s go CowboysNation!
