The Cowboys will be on the road against the new look Tennessee Titans this Sunday, and the pressure is on. The Cowboys weren’t expected to defeat the 49ers last week, but the miscues raised eyebrows and questioned whether Jason Garrett is improving this team on the field.
All eyes will be on Garrett and Tony Romo. Will Garrett have this team prepared or will the come out sloppy again? Will Romo snap out of opening day funk or was it a precursor of things to come? Either way, another consecutive loss must be avoided at all costs.
Teams that have started the season 0-2 have just a 12% chance of making the playoffs, which could be the same percentage of Garrett remaining the Cowboys coach at the end of the year, and that’s probably being kind.
The Cowboys started the season with bad odds of making the Super Bowl, but another loss would undoubtedly plunge their odds to the point of no return. Online sports betting site MyTopSportsbooks.com has their futures listed, and if you’re a Cowboys fan, the odds are bleak. I wonder what the odds will be with another loss? Let’s hope for a win and stay alive this season before it slips out of reach!
Keys to this week’s game
- Line-one for the Cowboys should be turnovers; don’t commit any turnover and force turnovers in our favor
- Be balanced; Pound the ball, but also spread the ball all over the field
- Create a pass rush; get in Locker’s face and force some bad passes
- Special teams; Harris needs to field the ball and no more muffed catches, I’m sick of that bs from him.
- Time management; the Cowboys have had two overtime games against Whisenhunt, so make sure everything is executed, no bumbling around or delay of games.
- Protect Romo; don’t give any excuses to pass the ball under pressure, he’ll turn it over.
We need some unsung heroes to step it up in this game, we’re short playmakers, so someone needs to become one. Will it be Anthony Hitchens, or will it be someone on offense or special teams? The defense will get some help on defense with Terrell McClain expected to make his first appearance of the year.
Let’s go Cowboys! Get it done!
