The trade deadline is this coming tuesday, and PFT is throwing the idea out there that Tashard Choice could be a likely trade candidate. As of right now, I’m not seeing anything out there to suggest this is the case; but, more of a rumor. Choice is in the last year of his rookie contract, and he won’t be here next year, so the idea would be to try to get something in return.
PFT says:
As the trade deadline approaches on Tuesday, we’ve thrown out an extra-wide net in the hopes of catching any and all possible rumors regarding guys who may be available.
One guy who may be available is Cowboys running back Tashard Choice. (PFT)
Choice, currently the No. 2 tailback behind Felix Jones, has only 21 carries for 53 yards in four 2011 games. He’s in the final year of his contract, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2012.
Choice was drafted in the 4th round of the 2008 draft, the same year as Felix Jones. If Choice was to be traded before Tuesday, we could see another Andre Gurode situation where they deactivate Choice or decide not to play him at all. If this happens, then yes, maybe the idea could have something to it. DeMarco Murray and Phillip Tanner are the other backs on the roster, and none have had many touches at all this year.
