Cowboys Trade Up, Select LB Sean Lee

The Cowboys continued to be proactive and leapfrog again, and this time they moved to the #55 pick from #59 to draft LB Sean Lee, Penn State. Lee is likely going to be penciled in at ILB, and possible successor to Keith Brooking. Lee was rated the second best ILB and the Cowboys made the move to get their guy.

Fans were hoping the Cowboys would have moved up to grab a decent safety, like Taylor Mays or Nate Allen, but the braintrust had other plans in the form of adding another linebacker. LB is a premium position on the Phillips 34, so this made lots of sense to Wade, and more than likely, we’re going to hit on this pick. Phillips has a great eye for the secondary and the linebackers. Feel good about this pick.

Tomorrow we’ll have the following picks to start with:

4th Round, (#119 from Patriots)
6th Round, (#196)
7th Rounds, (#234)

The Cowboys have great success in the past in the 4th round, who will be this year’s hidden gem? a Safety, Defensive End, Offensive Line?

Tomorrow could have some interesting twists, could we see the Cowboys move Spears, Crayton or Roy Williams? There aren’t any solid leads that this will happen, but if there were any players on the hot seat, it could be those players.
