53-man rosters are set, but continue to be in a state of flux. The Cowboys were in talks to trade for Patriots QB, Ryan Mallett. The Texans offered a better deal and closed the deal instead.
Why did the #Texans have to trade for Ryan Mallett instead of claim him? The #Cowboys were in talks with #Patriots, too.

This is particularly interesting because this would suggest the Cowboys are not sold on Brandon Weeden as the #2QB, and probably the reason the Cowboys decided to keep Dustin Vaughan for now. Scary.
Cowboys insider Bryan Broaddus chimes in and shoots down the supposed trade talks:
“@Bo_Knows23: @BryanBroaddus Just heard Cowboys were in talks with Patriots for Ryan Mallett. Any truth to this sir?” No truth at all.

Broaddus is usually in the know as he works within the confines of ValleyRanch, so he know’s a lot about the inner workings. These rumors; however, are interesting and make me wonder still whether or not the Cowboys are truly comfortable with Weeden at #2 considering his shaky preseason performance.
Rapoport sticks by his report:
@jsmith6919 @BryanBroaddus Of course Cowboys deny. They always do. Don’t blame them.

The Cowboys need to calm down and just roll with what we have this season, but we do need to address the QB via the draft soon, as in 2015. There will be some top talent in the 2015 draft.
