Curry and the Warriors Take it to the Cavs

Last night marked the second time the Warriors and Cavaliers have faced each other since the Finals. The first meeting had the two teams trading baskets and battling until the final buzzer. This time, the game was just about over by halftime.

The Warriors defeated the Cavaliers last night by a score of 126-91. In one of the league’s primetime matchups, fans expected a greater level of competition. Instead, the Warriors scored an astounding 78 points by halftime. Even though Golden State is stacked with the likes of Curry, Durant, and Klay Thompson, they are able to move the ball at an unprecedented rate. They lead the league in assists and play a very unselfish style of basketball. They had three players scoring in the 20’s with Curry and Draymond Green finishing with double digit assists.

One of the biggest stories coming out of last night’s game was a flagrant foul committed by Draymond Green against Lebron James. James was on a fast break when Green went for a steal and ended up clotheslining the Cavs star in the process.

Watching in real time, it appeared that it was just physical play. Former players and analysts Chris Webber and Charles Barkley didn’t agree with the call.

“That’s Bogus.”

Short and sweet from Sir Charles.

On the Cavaliers side of the ball, there wasn’t many positives they could take away. They struggled from the field, only shooting 35% and below 30% from downtown. To add insult to injury, Kevin Love suffered a lower back injury and didn’t play in the second half. It was a smart play by the Cavs, considering the game was basically over at that point.

It should be interesting to see how this game effects the Cavaliers. Will they be able to maintain their top spot in the East after such a demoralizing loss? Only time will tell, but Celtics fans will be keeping a close eye on the standings now.
