Daily Cup of City 6 (2/25/14)
Tuesday’s game between St. Joe’s and Dayton will have plenty of March Madness implications.

Today’s Action

7:00 PM: Saint Joseph’s (19-7, 9-3 A-10) vs. Dayton (19-8, 7-5 A-10) – CBS Sports Network

The Hawks host Dayton Tuesday night with plenty of NCAA tournament implications hanging in the balance. St. Joe’s have won four straight and now find themselves squarely in the tournament field according to Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology. However, the streaking Flyers are making a postseason push themselves, as they’ve won six straight and find themselves among the First Four Out among those same projections. In fact, ESPN’s BPI actually has Dayton ahead of the Hawks, with both teams just outside the projected tournament field according to that metric.

In the team’s first meeting last month, Langston Galloway banked in a three-pointer in the closing seconds to win the game for the Hawks. St. Joe’s will need to do a better job defending junior guard Jordan Sibert, who hit 6 threes in that contest for a game-high 21 points. He and senior forward Devin Oliver both lead the team at just over 12 points per game, each shooting better than 40% from three. Expect a slugfest between these two A-10 teams who know there are just so many opportunities left to impress the tournament committee.
