8:00 PM: Pennsylvania (8-19, 5-8 Ivy) @ Princeton (19-8, 7-6 Ivy)
For many years, the annual season finale between Penn and Princeton often served as the deciding game for the Ivy League title and which team would advance to the NCAA tournament. With Harvard dominating the Ivy league in recent years, this end of the year contest has lost some of its luster, but don’t tell these two teams, who will be going all out to defeat a hated rival and end the season on a high note.
The Quakers will be looking for a season sweep against the Tigers, after Penn opened the Ivy league season with a win against the Tigers back in January. In that game, Penn out-rebounded Princeton 42-25, with Fran Doughtery recording 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Tony Hicks and Darien Nelson-Henry adding 18 and 17 points, respectively. However, Princeton has rounded into form lately, entering play Tuesday night coming off 4 straight victories. The Tigers’ leading scorer T.J. Bray has recorded at least 21 points in his last 3 outings. Given Princeton’s recent success and the Quakers’ inability to string good performances together this season, don’t expect Penn to end things on a high note in New Jersey.
