#1 Philadelphia Eagles
After last season, the Eagles are obviously the toughest competition. At this point, it is quite difficult to see how the Cowboys could have improved enough to play at the level that the Eagles did last season.
The have dynamic weapons all over their offense, a strong offensive line and a potential MVP candidate at quarterback. The Cowboys have not done enough on defense to suggest they can contain this offense, and the Eagles have a defense that can cause problems for their offensive line.
With the Cowboys, it is all about defensive line play. In order to slow down the Cowboys you have to slow down Elliot, and the only way to have a chance is with a deep and dominant defensive line.
The Eagles have exactly that and it is the biggest reason they are the toughest competition for the Cowboys in the NFC East. Who knows if the Eagles will capture the same magic that made last season so special.
Right now, however, there is no reason to believe the Eagles will have a major drop off from last season, and that means the Cowboys will need a lot of things to go their way in order to win the division this season.
