Earlier today it was revealed that the Cowboys would likely use the franchise tag on Dez Bryant. Stephen Jones elaborated a bit on the not so surprising news:
“Right now all things being equal, it’s leaning more Dez with the franchise than it is not,” Jones said. “But that doesn’t mean it will stay that way.
“We don’t ever want to give up on a long-term deal,” Jones continued. “It’s something we worked on all of last year and it kind of cooled off once we got into the season. We’ll continue to see what our options are and things happen quickly as you go along. Things can go along with a lot not going on, but all of a sudden it happens.” (DMN)
Dez Bryant replied to a fan on twitter with the following tweet:
I wish They felt the same way but it’s cool.. It’s #business RT @FrankyGonzalez3: I love how dedicated @DezBryant is to the @dallascowboys

There will be a bunch of speculation on this little tweet, it’ll be dissected and misconstrued I’m sure. For me, I’m not worried about it, and I don’t think Dez will be disgruntled from it. Dez even said it’s “business” and that is exactly what it is. The Cowboys will take care of Dez, Jerry has an affinity for his star players and Dez is a tremendous talent the Cowboys have not had on offense since Michael Irvin, or perhaps T.O., a true game changer.
