Patriots versatile running back Dion Lewis is out for the year with a torn ACL, confirmed by multiple sources. Lewis is the victim of a injury that is a widespread epidemic across the NFL that is making some of the top players cringe with the horrific injury. Lewis hasn’t played for two years until this year when he was signed with the Patriots during training camp. All of those days working hard paid off for Lewis, who won the job over Cadet and Gray. Lewis is the 5’7 180 pound quick running back that people weren’t expecting to make the roster and just another scrub. Think again. Lewis, when he was a college player, broke Hall of Fame RB Tony Dorsett’s record for rushing yards at the University of Pittsburgh which has had it’s fair share of great NFL players (Larry Fitzgerald, Darrelle Revis, Dan Marino, Curtis Martin and so on).
Here are some stats Lewis put up in 2015
49 carries 234 rushing yards 2 TD’s
36 receptions 388 yards 2 TD’s
