After losing to Buffalo 29-10, the Dolphins could be without both Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller for an extended period of time. At this time, the time table for Moreno is much longer and he could be placed on IR and be back after week 7 or 8.
Lamar Miller on the other hand seemed to find some room and space yesterday, but managed to have some key drops when the Dolphins needed him to perform at his best.
The Dolphins today didn’t waste anytime bringing back Daniel Thomas who is already quite prepared to play due to his vast knowledge of the Dolphins offense, coaching staff, and players.
Said Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel:
The Dolphins have re-signed Daniel Thomas to address the team's tailback injuries. He knows the offense & excels as a blocker & pass catcher

Clearly, while Thomas might not be an immediate upgrade, his ability to catch the football on screen passes, seek tough yardage with his feet, and rapport with Ryan Tannehill as a pass blocker could be a positive in Miami.
