Dolphins choose Pruitt over Robinson, Collie

After working out three wide receievers, the Dolphins have signed the one most familiar to them, Julius Pruitt.

Pruitt has been in camp with the Dolphins for the last three seasons but appeared in only nine regular season games, all in 2011. He was cut during the preseason of 2012.

The signing comes after the news that Armon Binns will miss the enstire season with a torn ACL and MCL.

Although Pruitt has never made any regular season contributions with the team, his experience in the offense will make his transition into a camp a smooth one. The fact that he was a special teams standout in his time with Miami also makes this an expected choice.

Along with Pruitt, the Dolphins also worked out two much more experienced and proven options; Laurent Robinson and Austin Collie. Despite their past success in the league, both come with major red flags as they have a history of concussions.

The Dolphins ultimately elect to go with the safest option in Pruitt. However, by not bringing in a player that can improve the depth at the position, it indicates that the team is confident in their current wide receiver core.
