Dolphins continue to revamp receiving core

The Dolphins have added tight end Jordan Cameron and wide receiver Kenny Stills in the past week. Cameron, if healthy has the potential to be a stud. The only question mark is he has had three concussions. Cameron is potentially replacing Charles Clay, who just yesterday signed an offer sheet from the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins have until Sunday to match that offer. Cameron is the big bodied athletic presence the Dolphins have been lacking since the Brandon Marshall trade. If Cameron can get back to his 2013 Pro Bowl form this could be a major steal for the Dolphins and a huge upgrade on the soon to be departing Clay.

Kenny Stills is somewhat of a question mark. He is young and athletic but he was traded by the Saints. One has to wonder why they would let such a young guy go like that. He was essentially brought in to do what Mike Wallace did, which was take the top off the defense. Wallace is the best at that in the NFL, so unless Ryan Tannehill can form some chemistry and hit on some deep balls that lacked with Wallace, then I’m not so sure that he will be an upgrade.

One thing is for certain is that we will find out how good Ryan Tannehill really is. If Clay departs, he will have lost 4 of his top 5 targets from a year ago.

At this rate, one has to think the Dolphins will address the receiver position with their first draft pick, unless they are somehow able to land a tier 2 receiver like Michael Crabtree.
