Dolphins hire Bill Lazor for vacant offensive coordinator position

Picture 2

Just this morning, it was reported by Adam Schefter as well as many others that Bill Lazor, formerly the quarterback coach in Philadelphia has been hired by the Miami Dolphins.

Bill Lazor will serve as offensive coordinator and call the plays for the Dolphins.

Last season, Lazor was instrumental in the development and coaching of Nick Foles who had an outstanding year while coaching with head coach Chip Kelly.

Lazor, 41 years old, comes in with a strong résumé and pedigree having coached at the collegiate level with the Unviversity of Virginia as offensive coordinator and was tabbed  by Chip Kelly last season to work with the team's quarterbacks.  In addition, Lazor is a student and proponent of the West Coast offense, the offense that fits the Dolphins players at the present moment.

For Dolphins fans, so far the reviews are mixed, but the hiring of Bill Lazor is certainly a step in the right direction.

With one more hire left at the GM position, Bill Lazor along with Joe Philbin will work on either re-shuffling or re-stocking their offensive staff.
