Dolphins lose to Jets in disgusting fashion 37-24

Losing is disgusting. Losing to the 4-12 Jets is disturbing. After leading 17-14, the Dolphins seemed primed for a winning season, a first under head coach Philbin.

Lamar provided an early exclamation point with a 97 yard run after the Dolphins stuffed the Jets at the 2 as they went for a first down.

The script couldn’t have been written any better, except it was the Jets who had some mild tricks up their sleeves to spoil the Dolphins 10 point lead.

Next, Geno Smith who threw for 358 yards, lead the Jets with the help of veteran receiver Eric Decker who couldn’t be anymore open than he was on a 78 yard deep pass beating embattled, by age, Cortland Finnegan. Said broadcaster Steve Tasker, “Finnegan doesn’t have the closing speed he used to. ”

Decker finished with 221 yards receiving attacking the Dolphins secondary weakness.

As the Dolphins defense sputtered, so did the Dolphins offense who seem to have the game in grasp if they could just drive the field. However, unbeknownst to us fans, Mike Wallace (reported back injury on injury report) was sulking by himself on the bench.

The absence of Wallace led to more third down receptions by Brian Hartline who had a good game compared to his overall season performance.

The Dolphins offensive line continued to allow Ryan Tannehill to stake claim on the most hit QB title, one he surpassed Andrew Luck, who was relaxing on the sideline. The offensive line showed their exposure to the Jets hungry pass rushers. The Jets amassed 6 sacks further fueling the fire about a faulty offensive line in Miami.

As if fueling the narrative of the Dolphins ineptitude in close games, this one got away from them right away in the 4th quarter. Down 3 points, the Dolphins lined up to receive a punt and Rex dialed up the fake to perfection throwing to their tight end Zach Sudfeld.

Yes, everything went wrong today in Miami. Head coach Joe Philbin has some answering to do as the week progresses and the biggest domino could fall with the defensive coach position.

Worse yet, GM Dennis Hickey could have some creative mathematics to achieve on whether to keep wide receiver Mike Wallace who clearly put the himself above the team. At least that’s the story that his spokesperson Brandon Gibson shared with the media.

Go Dolphins right? It’s going to be a long offseason for all Dolphins fans as they wonder if they were duped by their owner to sell tickets all along.

Maybe this time the owner might change course and make a change to, you know have the first winning season than 2008.
