Today, the Miami Dolphins pulled out a huge victory and sent the Patriots home to New England to reflect on what just happened. With the help of Ryan Tannehill staying hot from the last seconds of the second quarter (3 TDs, 312 yards passing, and a 120.6 rating), Mike Wallace with a signature catch and score, and Daniel Thomas and Marcus Thigpen showing their vesatility; the Dolphins prevailed.
However, the big play of the game came with a little over three minutes when Mike Sherman dialed up a Charles Clay WR/TE screen pass to convert a 4th and 5. In fact, the Dolphins almost didn't convert the first down since it appeared that Clay had been stuffed in the flat. However, Charles Big Play Clay got away and got six yards to keep the drive alive.
Just when the Dolphins fans, the 71,000 plus who paid, thought it was likely too early to score with Marcus Thigpen, the Dolphins saved the best for last with cornerback Michael Thomas' game-sealing interception in the end zone of future Hall of Famer, Tom Brady. Brady looked for receiver Austin Collie in the endzone and Michael Thomas stayed home, jumped and snagged the ball out of the air sending Sun Life stadium into a frenzy.
For the Dolphins, winning 24-20 over the rival pats, was exactly what they needed to keep this winning streak going. Dolphins are 5-2 since losing to the Bills off the bye and can improve now to 9-6 with a win in Buffalo this coming weekend.
