Dolphins suspend G Richie Incognito indefinitely

In the past 30 minutes, the Dolphins have suspended guard Richie Incognito.  Said the Dolphins to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald:

"The Miami Dolphins have suspended Richie Incognito for conduct detrimental to the team. We believe in maintaining a culture of respect for one another and as a result we believe this decision is in the best interest of the organization at this time," the team said in a statement. "As we noted earlier, we reached out to the NFL to conduct an objective and thorough review. We will continue to work with the league on this matter."

Additionally, Salguero said the fact that the investigation is only beginning shows that the Dolphins "believe Martin to a degree."

There are many stories now coming out including that Richie Incognito made threats via voice and text and according to Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo, much of this could be construed as "racially motivated."  This is something that comes across as a damning allegation of Richie Incognito and one that could keep him from playing this season or even next year with the Dolphins since he will be an unrestricted free agent.

Unfortunately, right now, the Dolphins without Incognito affects them greatly since he was perceived as a leader in the locker room.  However, in the media's eyes his now a leader of a different type and the Miami Dolphins are taking as proactive of an apporach as they possibly can.

There are more questions at this point.

Will Martin come back or be placed on the Non-Football Injury list as he takes some time away and seeks help and support?

Does Joe Philbin address the team about the matter differently than he did last year in training camp when he chose to cut Chad Johnson?

Do the players turn it up a notch, block out the media pressure and "noise" as the coaches call it and play their best football of the season?

Again, more questions than answers and if anything, the Dolphins have even more work to do to make sure Nate Garner is ready and RT Tyson Clabo holds up while Martin is out.
