Don Orsillo will make his return to Fenway Park after being let go by NESN in 2015. Orsillo was replaced with current play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien. The firing raised a lot of controversy as we was a fan favorite. Fans to this day are still sour about the breaking up of the ultimate broadcasting combo of Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy.
After leaving NESN Orsillo went on to become the play-by-play announcer for the San Diego Padres, Orsillo also does select national TV games on FOX. With the Red Sox and Astros being on National TV next Sunday night Orsillo will get the call of the game alongside Eric Karros & Tom Verducci he confirmed on Twitter Yesterday.
