Filling The Emptyness Of The Patriots Offseason With The Celtics

The Patriots season has officially end in the highest fashions possible. With all of Boston on a championship high what do we watch now? The question is obvious the answer is the Celtics. The Celtics right now are the second-best team in Boston and are very overlooked as they are a contender for this year for a championship. They very well could be the next team riding the duck boats down Tremont Street celebrating their 18th championships in franchise history. It is even reported that Tom Brady texted Isaiah Thomas saying “it’s your turn next” after they won Super Bowl LI.

The Celtics are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 33-and-18 record only 2.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the lead in the East. This Celtics crew is truly a lovable team and is easy to get connected with from Brad Stevens coaching to Isaiah Thomas lighting it up on the court this is a fun team to watch.

The C’s are currently one of the hottest team in the league with a seven-game win streak. This being led by Isaiah Thomas who is just about averaging 30 points a night and 6 assists. Thomas is a force to be reckoned with as he has just been on fire as of lately.

The Celtics team is a well-oiled machine as they play good in all aspects of the game just not offense. Take Marcus Smart for example, you look at the box scores he is nothing special, but you watch him play and he is an animal. Smart will do whatever it takes to get the ball averaging 2 steals game. His shooting might not be the best but he will defend the perimeter like nobody else.

It is not just Smart or Thomas who make this team good they are good from the bottom to the top and they are a team every Boston sports fan should be watching as it is truly a fun team to watch.

The Bruins on the other hand, not so much. The Bruins just fired longtime head coach Claude Julien on Tuesday. Some fans may not even know this because the Bruins organization buried this news by announcing it on the same day as the Patriots Super Bowl Parade. But yes, it did happen. The Bruins are now coached by assistant coach Bruce Cassidy.

Stuff is about to get very interesting over on Causeway Street as Cassidy does not have the greatest head coaching experience in the league. As horror stories came out of Washington when he was fired from there. You can read that Washington Post article by clicking here.

I love the Bruins and I want them to be so much better but I just do not see it with this upper management and coaching staff. For now, stick with the Celtics as they are an easy team to watch. If you want to venture over and watch the Bruins, it’s going to be hit or miss. Some games they will look great well others are just brutally painful to watch.
