The season may just about be over for the Boston Red Sox and now being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs it would make sense if they just stopped trying. That is exactly what the Sox are not doing this year. They are not going down without a fight after last night’s big win over the Yankees the Red Sox will delay them clinching the post season. The Red Sox are currently on a 5 game win streak as they continue there last week of baseball with the Yankees and the Indians. With all focuses on now on the 2016 season it is interesting to see what direction the team will go in.
I am not calling this season an absolute failure; I am calling it a step in the right direction. With the new blood of the in the upper office all eyes will be on them to see how they form this 2016 team. One of the big things that stands out to me right now is we need an ace pitcher. We lost are opportunity to keep Lester and we all know that was a big mistake but it is time to move on. We need some out on the mound who can give us consistence starts.
Pitching is the backbone of a baseball team you need good pitching if you want to make it anywhere. With the pitching we have now we will not make the playoffs next year and as a fan of the team I am sick and tired of waiting for these rookies to develop. We need someone now!
Pablo Sandavol and Hanley Ramirez need to be on the way out. Let’s be honest they have been missing and did not even make the final road trip with the team does anyone care? I sure don’t I think so; we have been playing better without them, but I will cut them some slack they are hurt but I think it is just time we move on. It was a risk bringing them to Boston and it failed, it is time to realize it failed and move on and try something different.
It is time we stop trying to squeeze out potential of older players and find new young players who can do even better, even if that means we spend more money it will be worth it in the long run.
