Former Bills WR Robert Woods is returning to LA, to the Rams, per sources. Back in the Coliseum, like at USC.
Robert Woods intends to sign a 5-year, $39 million deal, including $15 million guaranteed, with Rams, per sources.
Woods caught 51 passes for 613 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2016. That will likely be enough to earn him almost $8 million a season, though the current crop of free agent receivers is pretty deep.
Woods could certainly make a large impact on a team that actually tries to pass the ball more instead of pace the NFL in rushing attempts for the last two seasons.
He’s 6-foot-1, bringing a little bit of size to a position of desperate need. Tavon Austin, 5-9, was the only established receiver returning for the Rams.
Woods complements him nicely as a vertical threat. So, in one day, the Rams addressed by far their two greatest needs. Not bad.
