FROM THE OFFICE OF ORANGE JACKET GUY: REBUKE

Greetings, Bronco Nation, from the Office of Orange Jacket Guy. Bad things have happened, and I’ve let a lot of things pile up in the queue.

First up: the fallout from the loss to SDSU. Going into this game it was already obvious there were some things that weren’t helping. It was my honest opinion at the time that there was slow but steady improvement both on the team and in the staff. Today, I am sad to say that if there was, it is now gone. It is my professional belief that Southpunt (and yes, I reserve the right to call him whatever I wish, including the name I believe he earned) no longer respects this game like he should.

Since we’ve already got a couple of “L” marks in the result column, we should just put in another QB. Yeah, sure, we might not do well with that, but it’ll at least be a better game to watch and the QB might actually try harder. Standards sure weren’t kept as the game opened either; like I said in other outlets, because SDSU was able to return the ball to the house, public floggings should be brought back. Our house, our team, and our game was disrespected. I trust Coach Pete to do what is necessary.

Next bit, although related: politics and our Broncos. Stop it. How many times do I have to say it?! Not only is it annoying and grating on my nerves, but it diminishes the fan experience. I don’t even remember the candidate’s signs that I was seeing a bunch of in the parking lot, but I do remember running into that group at least 8 times. Our Broncos are not for your benefit. I don’t care if I agree with you politically or not. That’s not the time nor is it the place.

And without external objection, the next item of business: the longtime target of my amusement at DUI’s expense, the venerable Coach Robb Akey has been fired. I had a good laugh at this. Could the DUI be turning over a new leaf and taking out the trash? Probably not, but if they ever hope to call us rivals again, that is one of the MANY things that needs to get fixed. So long, Mr. Akey, you glorious a-hole.

And lastly, I am seeing too much doubt among you, Bronco Nation. The only thing that we have left is to be Bronco fans. Don’t screw that up because we lost some games. Don’t embarrass the rest of us.

Until next time, Bronco Nation: In Pete We Trust
