Garoppolo Leaves Game In Patriots 31-24 Win Over The Dolphins

The revolving door of quarterbacks continues in New England as it wasn’t Brady, It wasn’t really Garoppolo, but it was rookie QB Jacoby Brissett who stepped up and lead the Patriots to their second win of the season.

Just when you thought all was going perfect the Patriots were going to blow out the Miami Dolphins after three possession and three touchdowns. Jimmy Garoppolo was looking great threading the needle to complete passes and taking his time in the pocket to let the play develop. He did all this until he was hit by Kiko Alonso shortly after throwing the ball. It was a clean hit but it was just the way Jimmy landed that did it.

We have now been told that it was a sprained AC Joint in his throwing arm. It may sound like nothing but will still keep Jimmy Sidelined for a total of six or so weeks. But more importantly, he will miss the next two games against the Texans and Bills.

So Jacoby Brissett will be your starting quarterback (most likely) for the final 2 weeks of the Brady suspensions. But who will the Patriots sign this week as a backup or potential starter? That will be taken day-by-day I am sure.

For playing most of the game Brissett only had a total of nine passes, six of those were completed for a total of 92 yards. I say let the boy air the ball out, I don’t get why we went to a strict ground game after Garoppolo went down.

At the end of the day, the Patriots are still 2-0 and in the lead of the division and with Brady coming back in two weeks there is no reason to panic. But it will be a quick turnaround week as the Patriots now play Thursday night as the dangerous JJ Watt and the Huston Texans come to town.
