In game one the Golden State Warriors appeared to lose power forward David Lee for the rest of the postseason with a torn right hip flexor.
Yet, the Warriors got some surprising news today as he’s been cleared to play. His presence is game six even if he plays limited minutes is a huge plus with Golden State up 3-2 on the Denver Nuggets and looking to close out the series at home.
During the season Lee led the NBA in double-doubles and averaged 18.5 points, 11.2 rebounds including and 3.5 assists. He becomes even more important if the Warriors win the series as their next opponent is the San Antonio Spurs a team that has more size then the Nuggets. It also takes the attention away from head coach Mark Jackson and his comments after game five.
Don’t expect Lee in the starting lineup and expect him to play no more than 15 minutes.
